Crysis 2 – a well-designed game
EA games have finally managed to create a game that suits everybody since now this one is available also on PC and consoles. Fans were thrilled by this news and maybe this is why Crysis 2 had so much success compared with the other two games from the series.
Crysis 2 has also brought us another great surprise besides an amazing game – CryEngine 3, one of the most advanced engine games so far. Now, when you play Crysis 2 you can see right from the beginning how clear are all the details, the fun from your hand is pretty realistic, now you can a well-designed game. The story of the game is well thought and it is a continuation of the Crysis Worhead. At the beginning you are in a submarine with you team and you are attacked by an alien ship. You will manage to get out of there, but not in a good shape. You will be found by the Prophet (as you know he is the main character from Crysis and Crysis Worhead) and he gives you his costume since he is infected by the aliens and has no chance to survive. That costume will keep you alive and after a while you will wake up near the Prophet body. Before he died, he left you a message and you will have to follow his instructions. It is essential to see all instructions and to take them into account.
You have the mission to save New York even though aliens are all over the earth. The game will end after you save the city. That’s the thing that I didn’t liked about this game because I didn’t had the feeling that I quite finished it since I knew that aliens are all over the earth, not only in New York city. But I have the hope that in the next Crysis game I will have to chance to continue my mission.
The game has also a multiplayer option, it is well-designed, you work on teams just like in Counter Strike. I don’t know what else I should say about this option. It is pretty good.
The gameplay is also pretty well-designed, the costume is not that imporved as I thought it would be, but one good side is the fact that the functions of the costume can be activate using Q and E and this is pretty handy and practical. There are three levels of difficulty, the medium one is perfect to play since it seems to be more realistic, the hard one is to heavy you die pretty easy and in the easy one you have small chance to die.
In big lines, as I stated as well above, Crysis 2 is a good game, a well-designed game and even though it has some small downsides, the good sides make you not to notice them. It is a game that is worthy of your time without doubt.
